Lists ...
I like lists. Lists keep me engaged and moving forward. There was a time in my life that I started a list of the ten best songs ever recorded, at least, the ten best in my opinion! I have a list of worthwhile movies on one of my blogs. I make lists for my students. I don't shop without a grocery list.
The ten "best" song list (according to me) never got finished, because it was impossible to name the number one song. I think it's the same way with movies. Lately, though, I believe I've discovered the number one TV show, and I think others would agree. It's called, This is Us, and by now, everyone's heard of it, but I resisted watching it because I am just too busy, just too busy ...
The Washington Post has written several articles about this show. This is one of them. Maybe this show will help the United States in some way, but for me, life is on hold until I finish watching seasons 1 & 2.
Season 3, Episode 17 Update: There's so much food for thought contained in this one episode. I believe anything's possible when a partner/friend/spouse/parent/child/etc. "has your back" and vice versa, but just the opposite when they don't. However, even starting out from that basic, core value, life can be complicated, but without "commitment", nothing else follows.
And then there's this:

"I wasn't that great a chef, and I don't think I'm that great a writer."
"I love New York. I'm a guy for whom a New York accent is a comforting thing."
"The way you make an omelet reveals your character."
"I could do nothing but Brooklyn shows for the rest of my career, and I could die ignorant. There are so many places left to go."
"Barbecue may not be the road to world peace, but it's a start."
